Teaching experience

Hobbit has 14 years teaching experience, working with adults and children of all ages and abilities. With a background in Early Years Care and Education she has taught all over Europe and Central Asia, in nurseries, schools and orphanages.

She is heavily involved in the European Cultural Exchange, Social Circus Project; Educircation, which recognises the importance of compassionate human interaction and connection when working with vulnerable groups. Circus is proving an extraordinarily useful tool for this, particularly when engaging with groups such as psychiatric patients, disabled groups and children.

The joy of handstands

Handstands are Hobbit’s current passion and she has been teaching adults the joys of “Finding The Balance” for over 5 years. Handstands are at the core of acrobatics and there is so much to be gained from embarking on the handstand journey: Just deciding to commit to something that many people deem “impossible” is enormously exciting. Hobbit particularly enjoys encouraging, teaching and enabling her students on this challenging and incredibly rewarding journey.

Invisible Youth

Hobbit is a founder and consultant for Invisible Youth; a Bristol based social circus company, teaching classes in schools, private and community events. Her ethos of teaching is process focussed and works holistically on an individual level. She believes that circus is a vital vehicle for transformation of attitudes and skills. Building confidence, self awareness, team work and a healthy relationship to learning.
