Red Mist Workshop (Spring 2026)
Join an intimate group of people exploring the physical processing of anger & rage. It is open to anyone who identifies as FINT (female, intersex, trans, non-binary) & no prior movement experience is necessary for participation.
10am-4.30pm Saturday 21st March 2026
The Red Mist is inspired by Rage Rooms, Gabor Mate’s research into suppressed anger and the collective feeling that there isn’t a safe space for big feelings to be expressed.
The intention of this workshop is to release stored energy that is rooted in anger & rage. We are taught to swallow our anger, to stop the feelings in our bodies and not experience them. We are offering a practice to allow those feelings to move through us and connect with those parts of ourselves in a held environment of community & ceremony. This workshop will also deal with anger as a message & how we can become more confident in responding to this important information.
The Day: In this workshop we will get to know each other and connect with the body through guided movement, games, awareness practices & sound making sessions before commencing a group smash experience. The venue is private & we are able to make noise as we need. We will not be disturbed or disturb others.
There will be space for verbal articulation of intentions, but you also need not explain why you came. This is not a space for group verbal processing as we cannot hold the group safely in that way. It is a place to collectively experience what is often swallowed, hushed away and processed alone, whilst being witnessed.
We will decompress as a group & there is also the option of solo decompression sessions with Helina Griffiths who is a psychotherapeutic counsellor, in her final year of training, specializing in somatic embodiment and trauma-informed care. There will be a breakout space for anyone who needs time in private during the session.
We will check out together & the whole day will be held by the facilitators in a consensual & neuro affirmative way. The land is available for roaming at any point that you need & provides both expansive horizons over the rolling hills of Pensford & more enclosed wild spaces in woodland as well as the Chew River that runs along the bottom of the land.
The Space: The indoor space is on is 25 acres of beautiful rewilded land in the Chew Valley, close to Bristol. It is home to a glorious diversity of plant and animal life, with whom you can share stunning views and secluded valley pockets. Compost loos and mains water are available but there is no mains electricity. It is accessible from Bristol by bus & a short walk.
A copy of the schedule of the day is available on request if anyone requires this for any reason.
