Create your Deer Character
Challenge One: Make your antlers
You will need: An old head band, 2 cable ties, cardboard, pencil, pen, scissors, sticky tape.
If you need to buy new you can find metal headbands here & biodegradable cable ties here or here.

1.Draw your antlers on the cardboard. 2.Cut them out. 3. Attach the cable ties to the headband the same way round & as tight as you can. 
4. Stick the cable ties to the middle of the antlers. 
5.Connect the antlers in the middle on both the back & the front, with sticky tape. 6. Decorate them if you like. |
While you make your antlers you could find a name & character for your deer. Some questions to ask might be..
How old are they? What do they like to eat? What mood are they in? What makes them happy? What makes them sad?

Treasure Hunt
Challenge Three: Take your deer characters on a treasure hunt.
Frolick in the woods, play hide & seek in the trees & collect the following & keep them safe:
An Oak leaf,
A Beech Nut
A twig from an Ash tree
A feather

Make It Tasty
Challenge Four: The magic trick
Place the leaves, stick & feathers in a dish & place it in the oven when you get home. Turn oven on & tell kids to go play.
***Without being seen by your children***
Take dish out & replace with pastry & apples (your own or one of these recipes- you can buy ingredients on your way to/from the woods).

Alternatively you can buy a dessert from a shop on your way to/from the woods to replace the woodland treasure in the dish.
Be surprised about it when you open the oven!
